Al Horford suddenly made 2 ‘shocking’ choices for next season!

Al Horford is at a crossroads, contemplating whether to hang up his sneakers or chase another championship ring with the Golden State Warriors next season.

According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, the veteran center is carefully weighing his options, with retirement a very real possibility alongside a potential move to the Bay Area.

The situation is fluid, and Horford isn’t rushing into a decision. “Horford is comfortable waiting. Retirement remains on the table, sources said, though the Warriors appear to be operating as if he is a firm part of their plan next season,” Slater reported. It seems the Warriors are eager to add his experience and skillset to their roster, even as they navigate other offseason hurdles.

In fact, reports from Jake Weinbach suggest a verbal agreement is already in place between Horford and the Warriors. However, finalizing any signings has been put on hold due to the ongoing situation with restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga. The Warriors need to resolve Kuminga’s contract before they can officially bring Horford aboard.

Last season, the 39-year-old proved he can still contribute at a high level, appearing in 60 games for the Boston Celtics. While his scoring numbers were modest at 9.0 points per game, he continued to be a valuable presence on the boards, averaging 6.2 rebounds, and dished out 2.1 assists. He also shot a respectable 42.3% from the field and 36.3% from beyond the arc.

Horford’s career has been a journey through several prominent franchises. He’s donned the jerseys of the Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics (on two separate occasions), Philadelphia 76ers, and Oklahoma City Thunder. Throughout his 17 seasons, he’s established himself as a consistent and reliable player.

A five-time All-Star, Horford boasts impressive career averages of 12.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game. His versatility and basketball IQ have made him a valuable asset to every team he’s played for. Whether he chooses to continue adding to those numbers with the Warriors, or decides to call it a career, Al Horford has undoubtedly left his mark on the NBA.
